Many of us wrote that first letter with hope, compassion, curiosity, or even love. We opened our hearts to someone behind prison walls, believing the connection was real.. For some, it truly was. But for others, the experience became emotionally confusing, painful, and deeply heartbreaking. This space is for people who have been emotionally "played with", manipulated, lied to, ghosted and maybe financially used, or emotionally attached to an incarcerated pen pal who was not honest about their intentions. The grief that follows is real. Even if the relationship existed through letters, phone calls, messages, or visits, the emotional bond can feel incredibly strong and the loss can feel devastating. Many people ruggle alone because others do not understand the unique emotional attachment that can form in prison correspondence relationships. You may feel embarrassed, ashamed, angry,  betrayed, heartbroken, or still emotionally attached despite everything that happened. All of these feelings are valid. This website is NOT about attacking inmates or judging prison relationships. Genuine connections absolutely do exist. Instead, this is a safe and supportive place for people who are trying to heal afteremotional manipulation, mixed signals, broken promisses, love bombing, dissappearing acts, or emotional dependency within these relationships. Here, you are not alone.You can find emotional support, and begin to processing the grief and confusion that often follows these situations. Healing takes time, especially when the relationship felt meaningfull and emotional intense.Sometimes the hardest part is accepting that the person you cared about may not have been the person they pretended to be.
